Filter Enhancement in Compass (Banner 9)

The May 19 upgrade to Compass (Banner 9) includes enhancements to the search/filter feature.  Currently, when a user opens a filter, the user must select the field, operator and criteria for each field to be included in the filter.  This involves several clicks and selections and takes time for each field to be included in the filter.  After May 19, the enhanced filter will more closely resemble the existing Banner 8 functionality.

The enhanced filter opens as a basic filter with the first five fields on the page, or in the section, populated and ready for the criteria to be entered.  This saves the user considerable time and effort in setting up the fields and operators to be used in the filter.

Once a search/filter has been executed, the active filter components are displayed at the top of the page.

In addition, the user can now toggle back and forth between basic and advanced filters.  The advanced filter allows the user to modify the operator and criteria from the basic filter and add/remove fields.  Changes made in the advanced filter are retained when the user switches back to the basic filter and vice versa.
