Undergraduate Degree Planner Implementation

Attached is a draft plan for the implementation of the Undergraduate Degree Planner.  In this plan, undergraduate students whose first term of enrollment is fall 2013 will need to have an approved degree plan by the fall 2014 term, or they will not be permitted to pre-register for the spring 2015 term.  This plan will be discussed at the Compass Advisor Group meeting on July 15.

The degree planner will be available optionally to all current undergraduate students in Howdy on July 22, 2013.  An email will be sent to these students on July 29, informing them about the availability of the planner.  Incoming fall 2013 students will be granted access on the first day of fall classes, August 26, 2013.

Degree plan templates can be entered on the SWATMPL form in Compass. Instructions for entering information into SWATMPL are attached.  SWATMPL access can be requested through your PAA by requesting the G_REGI_29_UG_DEG_PLAN_TEMPLATE group.  Up to two users per department and per college dean’s office may have access to update SWATMPL.  The users must be advisors and have access to run degree evaluations in Howdy. For more information regarding SWATMPL, please refer to the previous Compass Update from April 12.

In order to provide the Office of the Registrar sufficient time to review and activate your completed templates, this information should be entered by July 1, 2013.  Departments will be able and are encouraged to enter template information for previous catalogs for current students.
