About EIS

Compass is the student information system at Texas A&M University. Purchased from Ellucian, the system is web based and serves the university’s three campuses in College Station, Galveston and Qatar.

The Enterprise information Systems (EIS) department is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Compass. This includes managing the Ellucian Operational Data Store (ODS) to improve reporting capabilities, using Evisions Argos software. EIS provides user training and open labs to assist departmental users in writing custom reports to meet their specific needs. The Compass Communication Management (CCM) system is used to support recruiting, enrollment, student success and retention at Texas A&M University.

The EIS department also maintains and continuously enhances the Howdy web portal, used by the university community to access Compass, Argos and many other essential university tools and links. https://howdy.tamu.edu.
