Compass Banner 9 is Now Available

Release Date: Thursday, Apr 12, 2018

Banner 9 is the new version of Compass.  Banner 9 has the same pages and similar functionality as the current Banner 8 version of Compass, but it is web-based and does not require Java to be installed on your computer.  Since Banner 9 does not require Java, users can now access Compass (Banner 9) with any of the major web browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari.  Compass users are encouraged to begin using Banner 9 for completion of their daily tasks.  Both versions of Compass will be available to Compass users until the early fall 2018 term when the Banner 8 version will be retired.

Banner 9 navigation training for current Compass users is available in TrainTraq under course number 2113371: Banner 9 for Existing Compass Users.  In addition, Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) is offering a demonstration of Banner 9 on Monday, April 30, 2018, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.  If you would like to attend, please register for the demonstration in TrainTraq by clicking on the Find Classroom Training tab and searching for course number 2113412.  Your search should return the course, Banner 9 Demonstration.  Click on this course and follow the links to register.

Banner 9 may be accessed from the Compass (Banner 9) Administrative Pages Channel on the Employee tab in Howdy.  You may also use the Compass (Banner 9) icon at the top of Howdy.  Please be aware that a few of the keyboard shortcuts have changed in Banner 9.  A list of the Banner 9 keyboard shortcuts is available in the channel on Howdy and in the TrainTraq course.
