SIMS
SIMS is responsible for the maintenance, operation, user training, customer support, and service for the database system that includes information for every student enrolled at Texas A&M University and TAMU-Galveston. SIMS is also responsible for supporting systems which allow students to apply, register, get financial aid information, and receive grades by Web or from authorized terminals.
SIMS Work Requests
Texas A&M has begun the process of replacing our legacy student information management system (SIMS) with Compass, a new student and financial aid system. The new system is a Banner software application that the university has purchased from SunGard Higher Education. The Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) project team is managing both systems, SIMS and Compass, throughout the transition. One of the many challenges during this implementation is the management of changes that must be made to our existing SIMS system, which may also impact our new Compass system.
