Committees

Several committees provide leadership, guidance, and assistance to the Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) project team and Compass project:

The EIS Council is comprised of four members of the executive staff at Texas A&M University: the executive vice president and provost, executive vice president for operations, vice president for finance and chief financial officer, and vice president and associate provost for information technology. The council provides high-level strategic direction for the project, including review of funding plans and timelines. The council also reviews recommendations made by the EIS Steering Committee, and makes decisions about software configurations that have significant impact on university policy, the project budget, and project timeline.

The EIS Executive Committee is comprised of four members who also serve as members of the full EIS Steering Committee. It is led by the vice president and associate provost for information technology, with other members including the Steering Committee's representatives from the finance and academic services offices, as well as the EIS project director (an ex officio member). The committee implements recommendations made by the EIS Steering Committee, serves as a liaison to the EIS Council, and provides oversight of the project budget.

The EIS Steering Committee is comprised of approximately 20 members representing offices and organizations at Texas A&M University impacted by the Compass project. It includes representatives from the university branch campuses in Galveston and Qatar, and is led by the vice president and associate provost for information technology. The committee makes recommendations to the EIS Council for key decisions, including those that have a significant policy or financial impact on the university, provides direction on a monthly basis for activities of the project, reviews project status and plans, and determines the level of modifications of the SIMS system.

The Portal Implementation Committee is comprised of approximately 20 members representing offices and organizations at Texas A&M University that are involved in providing and updating content on the Howdy web portal. The committee meets regularly to address portal issues including policies, content, training, accessibility, and security.
