Compass ID Requests

The procedure for requesting Compass accounts involves completion of a request form that is initiated and funneled through your department or college Primary Authorizing Agent (PAA) who has been appointed by the college dean or department head.

Faculty and staff who anticipate obtaining Compass accounts can prepare by taking the following steps:

1) Know your UIN, NetID, and NetID password. All are required to access Compass. For questions regarding these items, or to reset your NewID password, contact Help Desk Central at 979.845.8300 or helpdesk@tamu.edu.

2) Familiarize yourself with the Howdy web portal at https://howdy.tamu.edu. You will access Compass by logging in to the portal.

3) Take FERPA training. Use your UIN to log in to SSO at https://sso.tamus.edu, click "HR Connect," click "Training," open the "Alphabetical Master Course List" at the top, select and complete the course titled, FERPA. Employees must complete this course before receiving a Compass account.
